THE OLD SCHOOL

What is The Old School?

An event co-organised by CVFC and BLFH, primarily aiming to offer a learning space for Black and POC members of the community with culturally competent instructors and introduce Jazz Dances (Lindy Hop, Jazz & Tap) of African American traditions to practitioners of other Street and Club dance forms.

Our panel of educators are dancers who are well versed in these vernacular dances and are also connected to contemporary Black dance communities. Using their knowledge, they will bridge the understanding of music and movement of Jazz and Swing, for a weekend of fun exploration and exchange.
